short film
At home all week with recuperating wife and two kids on unprecedented 2-wk Spring Break. Today, the kidz learned how to make a short film with digital camera, Picasa, and Ugly Dolls.

Over break Tessa asked for me to make Snowflake a friend so we sorted through my fabrics and she chose the materials to make a cousin for Snowflake that we have named Graupel (small hail or snow pellets). Graupel has a rainbow belly and a funny pointy head and a long skinny beak. He is much thinner than our newly plump Snowflake...

I gotta give it to Trenton -- he has the ability to create the coolest creatures. I hope I can afford to buy the rights to make a stuffed el.beez version of this guy... I love him!

The Vampire Project: a book series by Tessa and Sydney
Tessa has a great classmate that has quickly become a best friend this past semester. Sydney and Tessa are often paired together for field trips and now have been choosing to work on school projects together. One of the choices in the class right now is bookmaking and Tessa and Sydney have paired up to create a 4-volume series about Vampires, Werewolves, Witches, and Mummies. They are working together on the stories and Sydney is writing them up and Tessa is creating all the illustrations. She is so excited about the project that she is bringing home her clipboard every night to finish the illustrations for the day's work. Last night she created an over sized poster of one of the vampire sisters at the prom dancing under the disco ball. Tessa's drawings are really great and she LOVES working with Sydney. They made fliers at school yesterday and photocopied them to let everyone know the book will soon be available... more to come!
